Munich-based brand A Kind Of Guise’s AW12 collection is entitled ‘The Carpathian Season’- a reference to the mountain range covering Central and Eastern Europe. We have been keeping a close eye on the German label as we really like what they have done to date. We are very happy to say that their latest collection does not disappoint, in fact, it confirms that A Kind Of Guise has grown to become a go-to brand for those in search of European understated quality.
Autumn / Winter 2012 sees the brand experiment by using a wide variety of patterns and styles, putting effort into every piece’s uniqueness with a special focus on colour and detail. The result is a wonderfully curated winter collection that offers an array of outerwear, shirting and chunky knits. Our picks from the collection are the Harlekin blazer (with matching trousers- why not?) and the Carpathian shirt- a stand-out, beautifully embroidered piece of apparel. Also worth noting is that all of the brands garments are crafted by small local manufacturers and workshops- which as you will know by now, we greatly appreciate. Not bad for a brand whose first collection was made out of the leather leftovers from medicine balls.
