Haerfest (pronouced Har•vest) is a New-York based label dedicated to premium bags and accessories, which follow a reducible aesthetic, aiming for an understated and urban sensibility. “Familiar yet unexpected,” is always an underlying direction taken when designing.
Brothers Tim and Dan Joo believe trends come and go but quality materials, balanced proportions, and attention to detail will undoubtedly stand the test of time. They strive to create modern basics that age incredibly well.
Haerfest is a brand we got to know and appreciate only recently when we met Tim at Capsule Paris. Tim took the time to taught us through the SS13 collection; it became instantly apparent that he is extremely passionate about his brand and the ethos behind it.
Haerefest’s Autumn/Winter 2012 “Collection C” is influenced by the American Minimalist Movement of the 1960s. Modular design, colour, and materials allow for a variety of unique combinations that celebrate this inspiration. A design direction that fits perfectly with the brand’s aesthetics.
The item which caught our attention from the AW12 collection is the Capsule Backpack (images below). The bag- a Haerfest staple- is made from an incredibly soft cowhide and the straps use an innovative design that means they can be used together for one shoulder or separately for two. Tim told us his initial intention was to create a versatile backpack which would look good in almost any situation, from commuting to the office in NYC to wearing it to the gym or on a night out after work. We think it’s stunning.
Tim and Dan were kind enough to send us some images of the AW12 collection and it’s an absolute pleasure for us to share them with you.
To shop the collection in the UK, head over to chastubo. Other stockists include Opening Ceremony and Kapok.
